Faculty Workshop Mon 4/15 – Get Researcher ID

Join the over ¼ million researchers who have adopted a unique Researcher ID.

Please come to the Library workshop designed for faculty on Monday, April 15 from 4-4:45 pm in Lab 114 of the Library to learn more.

The goals of the workshop are to:

  1. Highlight the importance of a unique author identifier system to combat problems with common last names and author misidentification
  2. Discuss two available author identification systems for researchers – ORCID (open community based effort ) and ResearcherID (Thomson Reuters)
  3. Discuss how getting an unique ID might help Fairfield faculty to build collaborations and generate citation metrics
  4. Allow time for signing up of for IDs, if people choose to.

Faculty who might be particularly interested include those in Biology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Environment, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Nursing and Physics, as well as anyone whose work is indexed in Web of Science.
