Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio Wins Nobel for Literature

Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio (published as J.M.G. Le Clezio)  has won the 2008 Nobel Prize for literature. The Nobel Committee said Le Clezio “is an author of new departures, poetic adventure and sensual ecstasy, explorer of a humanity beyond and below the reigning civilization.”  Le Clezio is the  author of more than 30 books which deal with topics such as ecology, rebellion against Western nationalism, and Native Americans.
