Congratulations to Swedish Poet Tomas Tranströmer for winning the Nobel prize for Literature. The Library has a great collection of his work for you to check out.

The Nobel Prize in Physics went to Saul Perlmutter, Brian P. Schmidt, Adam G. Riess for their work in discovering the universe’s expansion is accelerating. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Dan Shechtman for his discovery of quasicrystals. Learn more about quasicrysals here.

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine went to Bruce A. Beutler, Jules A. Hoffmann,  and Ralph M. Steinman. Listen to a National Public Radio audio piece about the work of Westport, CT native Ralph Steinman who died three days before the award was announced.
