The recent addition of Einstein’s to the Fairfield University dining options was a result of a joint effort between Senate and University Administrators. Jazzman’s, Einstein’s predecessor, was seen by the University as successful despite mass discontentment from the general student body. Acting on behalf of the student body, Senate met with administrators to bring up concerns about the negatives of the coffee shop. This included short hours, high prices, and being closed basically whenever someone needed coffee. Odds are, Jazzman’s would be closed on any given day.
The administration listened and began meeting with multiple restaurants that would have been potential partners in this role. All the while, Senate was kept updated and gave input as to other possible vendors. After this selection process, the Administration with Senate’s seal of approval, selected Einstein’s as the best possible candidate to meet the student’s needs. Einstein’s now provides more late night dining options for students on campus and due to its immense popularity; it is rarely seen without a line. Senate truly represented the students and as a result, Fairfield University’s campus is now a better, more well-fed, place.
