Technology, teens and terrorism: Director of Google Ideas delivers talk at Fairfield U

Jared Cohen, the newly announced director of Google Ideas, former member of the State Department, acclaimed author of Children of Jihad: A Young American’s Travels Among the Youth of the Middle East and Weston, Connecticut native, delivered the 13th Annual Jacoby-Lunin Humanitarian Lecture last Monday evening to a packed Fairfield University auditorium… “The Jacoby-Lunin lecture emphasizes the responsibility we have towards each other, while at the same time honoring an individual who takes that responsibility seriously,” Dr. Ellen Umansky said in her introductory remarks, citing Cohen’s extensive travels throughout Africa while an undergrad at Stanford, and the Middle East while a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, beginning with an “eye opening” trip to Iran in 2004.
