Olympics: Benchmarks on the road to racial equality

OpEd by Dr. Yohuru Williams, associate professor of history: Coming at regular intervals, the Olympics provide convenient benchmarks on the progress of our nation. A brief survey of some of the more outstanding performances by African-Americans at the Olympic Games is an important lesson not only in African-American history, but American history in general.
