When punk was just a baby: Cheshire’s Tom Hearn was there shooting

When Tom Hearn’s boss said, “Hey, take my camera” to the Ramones concert at Arcadia Ballroom back in 1976, Hearn never dreamed that the Nikon would open up a whole new world that would eventually make his work the subject of an art exhibit in an honest-to-goodness gallery. “The Flowering of Punk Rock, Photographs by Tom Hearn,” which chronicles the nascent days of the punk movement, including in New Haven, just a few miles from the lifelong Cheshire resident’s hometown, opens with a reception Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. At the Thomas J. Walsh Art Gallery at Quick Center for the Arts on the Fairfield University campus.
