GMO legislation gaining prominence in Connecticut

Debra M. Strauss, an associate professor of business law at Fairfield University, who has conducted research on the topic, believes the Connecticut legislation is a “positive step forward” in food regulation. “In the absence of stricter more proactive federal regulation, protective laws at the state and local levels are necessary and could serve as a model for similar legislation at the federal level,” Strauss said.
