Student Athlete Career Night

Date:   October 13, 2011

7:30 – 9:00      Juniors and Seniors who need help with interviewing skills

Opening remarks from young alumni about the importance of preparing well in advance of graduation.

Goal:   To get student athletes prepared for the upcoming recruiting season, internships and career planning while providing valuable guidance and contact with former Fairfield athletes alumni volunteers in a wide variety of career fields. We plan to match up each student with an alumna/us in their career field of choice in a small group setting.

Participation: Career Planning will advertise the event across campus. We are requesting the help from all coaches to encourage their teams to attend the session that makes most sense for the student.

Coaches:         Advanced Sign Up is required. Signup sheets will be provided. Most importantly, encouraging your student athletes to attend and prepare. Recruiting alumni volunteers – volunteer form is attached. All volunteers can be forwarded to Julie Tuozzoli jtuozzoli@fairfield.edu.

Students:        Preparation Worksheet will be provided with the signup sheets.

Resume Session:

Must come to event with a draft resume or list of skills, leadership roles, summer jobs, GPA, Major.

Interview Session:

Must bring a resume and be prepared to have career conversations with the alumni.
