New Grants for the School of Engineering

In November 2009, Dr. Ryan Munden, Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering, was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Connecticut Space Grant College Consortium in support of his research on High Efficiency Nanowire Photovoltaics. The scope of the project is to create a more efficient energy source through photovoltaic energy conversion of solar energy.

In September 2009, E. Vagos Hadjimichael was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Brinkman Foundation in support of equipment acquisition for a machine and tooling shop for the School of Engineering. This equipment will facilitate the work of students engaged in senior design projects.
