Fairfield Involvement: President of the Alumni Association Board of Directors

As of July 1, 2010, Fairfield’s Alumni Association Board of Directors has a new leader, Bill Crean ’91. Bill served on the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association, chaired the Regional Chapter Committee for the past two years, and now takes the helm from Carla Supersano Sullivan ’88.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity to build and strengthen Fairfield’s alumni network,” says Bill. “It has been a great resource personally and professionally. I have found that our common experience as alumni creates a bond that lasts a lifetime.”

Bill is an active member of the Boston Alumni Chapter, and a wonderful ambassador for the University. In 2004, he initiated the popular Boston Briefcase Breakfast, a biannual event showcasing talented Fairfield alumni speakers on timely business, government, economic, and social topics. Bill has identified speakers and been influential in bringing together alumni from all around the Boston area. Networking during the event has resulted in numerous successful job transitions and business opportunities for Fairfield alumni.

After graduating from Fairfield with a B.S. in politics, Bill started his career as an aide to a state senator and later as a lobbyist. His career path took a turn into commercial real estate brokerage where Bill is currently a partner in the Boston office of CB Richard Ellis. “I’m attracted to the entrepreneurial nature of the business,” he says, “and the creativity and challenges of advising a wide variety of businesses and building owners.”

Bill, his wife Amy, and their three young children live in Hingham, Mass.
