Submitted by Deirdre Bennett, Assistant Director, Student Affairs Communications on May 25, 2012

After graduation, I plan to go to the Peace Corps for two years and then pursue my dreams of becoming an FBI Agent.

Jameel Jarrel James ’14

Hometown: Born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago, now lives in New Haven, Conn.

Major: Political Science

I chose Fairfield because…

I am religious and also I liked the size of Fairfield. I couldn’t see myself at a large school because of the non-existent relationships between teachers and students.

What is your major?

I am majoring in Political Science because I hope to become an FBI agent.

My favorite thing to do on campus is…

being involved in community, whether it’s dealing with helping first years, service groups, learning, or just hanging out with friends.

What’s your most memorable academic experience?…

My most memorable academic experience would be a political theory class that I took with Dr. Jocelyn M. Boryczka. She challenged me to perform at a high level.

Outside of the classroom my favorite thing at Fairfield that really enhances my experience is…

Working with New Student Programs to help transition first years.

When I have free time I like to…

Play chess and billiards

One thing I wish I knew about actual college life before I got here is…

You don’t need to go to parties every weekend to have fun.

One positive thing I have learned about myself since coming to Fairfield is…

My positive attitude and willingness to learn.

After graduation, I plan to…

Go to the Peace Corps for two years and then pursue my dreams of becoming an FBI Agent.

The one Fairfield experience I will always remember will be…

Being an Orientation Leader for the Class of 2015.
